FOR PARENTS: How is level placement decided?

FOR ADULTS: Am I starting the right way?

We specialise in adult-specific biomechanics. Adult beginners work directly with mentors who understand mature center-of-gravity, focusing heavily on protective techniques and joint safety during initial OnBoarding.

Progression is tracked via our color-coded system based on technical stability and safety competency. Every student advances only when they’re physically and technically ready for the next challenge.

The Student Pathway

How is my child’s skill level determined?

Every journey begins with a TrialSkate assessment. Our mentors evaluate balance and foundational footing to place your child in the correct color-coded tier—from KinderSkate to ADVSkate—ensuring they learn alongside peers at the exact same technical stage.

What should we expect during the first week?

TrialSkate is a focused 30-minute intro to safety and gear habits. Following placement, OnBoarding introduces you to the progression portal where you can track every milestone. We focus on establishing trust before teaching advanced movement.

Is protective equipment mandatory?

Absolutely. Athletic safety is our priority. Full protection—helmet, wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads—is required for every session. We provide gear for TrialSkates, but regular students must arrive in their own fitted standard-grade safety gears and skateboard.

Can I start as an adult with zero experience?

Skating has no age limit. Our adult tracks are built on biomechanical efficiency and fall-safety tactics. We mentor you from your first push to technical mastery, ensuring you gain confidence in an environment that respects your pace and safety concerns.

Still Have Questions?

Informed mentorship for parents and new skaters. Your safety and path to mastery are our focus.

How do you prioritise student safety?

Safety is our culture. Every session starts with a multi-point gear check. We teach the '3-Point Fall' system first—ensuring you or your child knows how to fall safely before they ever accelerate.

What happens during a TrialSkate?

TrialSkate is a 60 or 90-minute technical assessment. We observe your balance and coordination points to find your natural 'Skate Footing.' OnBoarding integration then assigns you a Pathway color level that matches your baseline.

What gear and equipment are required?

Certified skate helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards are mandatory. If you are a new student, we provide high-quality loaner sets and a skateboard for your initial TrialSkate session.

How is level placement and progression decided?

We measure skills against 'The Matrix'—a 20-point proprietary checklist. Placement is decided by control, not age. Coaches perform weekly verifications, and progression checks are awarded upon consistent performance.

Is SkateEdu suitable for adult beginners?

Absolutely. Our Adult lessons focuses on low-impact movement and core stability. Coaches guide you through logical progressions that build technical confidence without the fear of uncontrolled falls.
